A Postdoctoral Position in Chromatin Research
- Max Planck Institute , Freiburg, Germany

Description: The research in our group focuses on new types and sites of histone modifications. Our research includes biochemical approaches as well as various developmental and cell differentiation systems. Used methods cover the whole field of modern cell and molecular biology/biochemistry such as protein purification, immunofluorescence, live cell imaging, mouse genetics, ChIPs, ChIP-sequencing, generation and characterisation of antibodies, quantitative realtime PCR, microarrays etc.

This position provides an opportunity for a highly motivated individual to participate in a project to investigate new histone modifications. The project is designed to allow the applicant to play a major role in determining its direction and at the same time benefit from a strong epigenetics background of the other members of my lab.

Freiburg is a lively university town located in the trinational Biovalley area between Switzerland, France and Germany. The MPI in Freiburg is currently turning into one of the centers for Epigenetics in Germany.

Qualifications: A strong research background is essential. Experience in at least one of the following fields is required: transcription, epigenetics, chromatin, biochemistry, yeast or mouse genetics. Candidates should be highly motivated and be able to work in a collaborative manner.

The PostDoc will profit from the international, dynamic and stimulating environment at the MPI, the knowledge of the German language is not required.
