Description: Source BioScience plc, a leading provider of pathology services to the healthcare and pharma/biotech sectors, has a new, post-graduate position available, funded for three years by the MARIE CURIE Initial Training Program “InteGeR”. Incorporating a range of EU academic and commercial organizations, the InteGeR research program is focused on the development and application of Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) technology to gain a better understanding of gene regulation during cellular differentiation. The major contribution of Source BioScience to this program will be the development of novel computational analysis and visualisation tools for NGS data.

Qualifications: Applicants should have a first degree in a molecular science and preferably further training to Master’s degree level in bioinformatics or a related subject. Preference will also be given to those with practical experience in a molecular biology laboratory.

In addition applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Applicants should be nationals of any country other than the UK and must have less than 4 years (full-time equivalent) research experience after graduation.
• Upon taking up the position, the successful applicant may not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc) in the UK for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately prior to the appointment.
• UK nationals may apply only if they hold dual citizenship and can provide evidence that they have resided and carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc) outside the UK for at least 5 years immediately prior to the appointment.

With a staff of around 90, Source BioScience’ headquarters is based in Nottingham, in the East Midlands of England, and offers modern, fully-equipped and -accredited facilities, with a complete range of technologies from basic histology to cutting-edge Illumina/Solexa genomic analysis platforms.
