Job Description

Postdoctoral Position: Epigenetic regulation of programmed cell death
- Karolinska Institute, Stockholm, Sweden

Description: A postdoctoral position is available immediately in the laboratory of Dr. Bertrand Joseph at the Institute of Environmental Medicine, Karolinska Institute in Stockholm to work on a project examining the role for control of histone tail acetylation by HDACs in regulation of programmed cell death. The aim of the project is to test the hypothesis that inhibition of HDAC activity might leads to an epigenetic reprogramming of cancer cells as well as neuronal cells, with the modulation of expression of a specific set of genes that, in turn, could result in the activation (cancers) or inhibition (neurodegenerative diseases) of apoptotic cell death.

The position is initially for 1 year with a possible extension for 2 years, depending on the performance and progress of the project. To learn more about our research please visit our website.

Qualifications: Candidates should have an excellent track record and experience in standard molecular and cell biology techniques. Experience in epigenetic and/or cell death research are of advantage. We are searching for an experienced postdoc who can work independently. Candidates should be highly motivated, creative and capable of contributing productively as part of a team.

Application Details: Interested applicants should forward a cover letter with summary of your research experience and aspirations, curriculum vitae, list of publications and the names, telephone numbers and e-mail addresses of several references to the e-mail address below.
